Kuma Kuma~

Finally I cut my hair today~ YaY... Felt a little chippier with new haircut... I've had enough of my curly fringe... Haha... So happy that I began fervently snapping away straight after I got back from Weiting's house-warming party~ Hahaha... 自恋狂 right? LoL... That's what my brother said also... Kekeke... As you can see, its a lot shorter now... I didn't expect Nancy will butch of so much of it... But luckily, I was quite happy with the result...

That's me with ShiN... My "大Kuma"... Heehee... Also my sleeping companian everynight since I received it for my last birthday... (and since Nashmi threw away my security pillow... T-T) It was a gift from my colleagues (now ex-colleagues) at SCB... He's a bit worn and dirty now... (after 1 yr of my 蹂躏... Hahahaha...)

Not surprisingly, I received a few Kuma Kuma for my birthday~ Haha... As a result, now my room is like turtle land... (not that I've got anything to complain about) LoL... I even overheard a conversation my Mum had with Justin, my little cousin, that day...
“爸爸, 你看, 二姐借我玩他的乌龟..." Justin happily showing his dad a few of my smaller Kumas... (二姐=me, my sis is eldest... well, actually its 堂姐... but the family culture is to dispense with the 堂 and 表) I don't usually allow them to touch my turtles although I give them full liberty to play with any other soft toys on my bed... The small ones are the rare few that I occasionally "close one eye" when I'm in a good mood... Hahaha...
"喉...你有没有看到? 他的房间里面有很多哦!" interjected my Mum suddenly...
"有! 我看到他的枕头也是乌龟!" replied Justin excitedly... Hahaha...

My "乌龟枕头"... Its a birthday present from Milky~ (See my birthday post... the extremely big package) I call it Softie~ Coz its a lot softer then my old pillow... Hahaha... I had trouble getting used to it in the beginning... But I can sleep pretty well with it right now...

My entire collection... That's 阿扁扁 ShiN is sitting on... The rest are my minis... They don't usually belong on the bed coz I'm afraid they might drop into some creek where I can't find it... (due to the 'violentness' of my sleeping habits) Haha... They live next to the fish tank, on my bedside table... There's actually one more newcomer, after I took this...

There~ Meet sausage, the mini bolster... although yoo can't really see much of him... Haha... He's part of my birthday present from Joanne...

Some close-ups... The small head with 阿扁扁 and ShiN is fighead, the handphone holder... He is one of my earliest collection... Which also comprised of 小小, my handphone chain which got lost and replaced a few times due to his flimsiness... couldn't take a pic of him coz he is currently still missing somewhere in my house... -.-" And there's 小扁扁, my EZ-Link Cardholder... The original 小扁扁 was imported from Taiwan when I went there this April... but unfortunately, it got lost on bus 74 while I was travelling home from school one day... (T-T) The current one is a replacement that Moi Khiaw and Jessica helped me get when they went Taiwan in June... Now that we mentioned~ there's also a handphone pouch... (There's no end to this... anyway, point illustrated... MAJOR Kuma-Kuma fan... period.)

Family~

Dinner at Marina South last night... @ Chin Huat Eating House... I think its been months since we managed a gathering that is as complete as this one... Wasn't hundred percent attendance of course, still some missing in action as usual... I think it's not easy to accomplish full strength when the family gets around to this size... But majority turned up for the occasion... All my aunts, uncle and their families... Four missing in action included Aunt Karen's husband and eldest son, Yuanzhi, who couldn't make it due to expired passports (they're Malaysians), and Aunt Mary's sons, Alvin, who had to work and Derrick who was still in Tekong for BMT...

'Warming up' the camera~ It was also first meet-the-parent session for Milky~ He appeared nervous, as expected, haha... Almost like the day I first went to his house... Talking very little and appearing to have a lot on his mind as we killed time before heading over to Marina... How come I'm always the undisturbed one? LoL...

We were the first to arrive (almost wanted to say at the crime scene... ><) Luckily, it didn't take too long for the others to either... very quickly, we met up with everyone... I ended up bringing him to everyone and introducing him... Haha... Well, didn't want anyone to say that we were being rude... My family isn't exactly gigantic (I've seen and heard bigger ones), but to meet everyone still required a reasonable amount of effort... I could see that he was pretty confused and stressed, but he was making an effort to stay sharp and focused... I guess he was pretty worried about the age issue like I used to be (despite him always assuring me not to fuss over it), and was trying hard to look more mature and steady... As we finally sat down to eat, he told me nervously 'I still can't remember everyone'... ^^ No hurry my dear, I know it's not easy...

Dinner was a rowdy affair as usual... There were 4 tables in total... But still, it didn't prevent anyone from catching up with everyone else... 'Why does everyone sit all jumbled up? Don't you guys stick with your own immediate family at gatherings like that?' Milky asked... That was when I realised... all around us... no one was quite stuck with their own family... Neither are we seated according to age group like most at family gatherings... Aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, grandma, we were all healthily mixed up... For me, my parents were seated at our next table while we sat with granny, my brother, Uncle Jeffrey and his wife... My sis was busy cooking at the other table.... And everyone could still manage to catch up, even across tables, between bites... It never did occur to me, but hey, it's actually quite cool! (Picture: Aunt Mary, Karen, Grace and Cousin Vivien... Look at the act cute 'aunties' behind... hahaha)

So, as all the cooking and chatting dulled, small chat groups could be seen scattered all over the place... As usual, the little punks were darting about... A quick stroll around the perimeter with the camera to catch some of the small gossip parties...

The chattiest of all... The 'diamond' sisters... Haha... 4 mums definitely make a market~ From the left: Grace, Rebecca, Karen (behind) and Eileen... Guess who's the youngest?

Family potraits...
The latest addition to the family... Little Kevin... First child of Uncle Eric and his lovely Myanmar wife~ The little rocker is just starting to make conversation... It's lotsa fun talking to him... Walks hyper fast too though... kinda reminds me of Dash in The Incredibles... haha...

Uncle Andy, wife and the bespectacled duo... Ivan and Justin... Seriously hyperactive tweets, this two... Can't even stay still for a photo...

And... The still '二人世界' couple... Uncle Jeffrey and wife... As usual, they made sure that there was no dull moment (and also no wasted good food) at our table~

While we '二人世界' with granny... hahaha... Actually, not really heh... Look at all those cooking behind... This was taken much earlier... Heehee...

And so... The evening concluded at around 11pm... After which everyone took off in 4 cars... All in all, a fine spread... Only regret is, Grandpa would have loved to see us gathering like this... But then again... maybe he was watching? Miss ya, ah goong...

Turning 25...

My first birthday with my dear ^^ So lucky that my exams finished just before my birthday... We had dinner at Swensen's... The restaurant where we had our first official date... Although not the same branch... We HAD to switch cause the Swensen's at Marina Square really sucks... LoL...

Me and the birthday presents... Actually, to be honest, initially I was a little disappointed with the evening... Just a little... I know, evil me right? Got my dear to celebrate with me should be grateful enough... But it was my birthday, so I guess I so wanted it to be special... but as we made our way to Esplanade, I silently reminded myself how lucky I am, to be able to share the day with him... and no matter how inexperienced he appeared to be, it was already thoughtful of him to plan dinner...

Just as I finished chiding myself for being ungrateful, all of a sudden, this 'doraemon' started whipping out surprises from his 'super pocket'... LoL... He tried to surprise me, although I jumped in on him... Haha... It was white roses... my favourite... and there were 3... They got a little injured from being squashed in the bag all this while... "Now I know why people always give the flowers 1st..." he said... LoL... Nevertheless, they were still white and pretty...

But there were more surprises yet in his bag... Next, he whipped out the cake... It was white chocolate with strawberry moouse filling and a little sponge, super delicious... At midnight, we lit a candle and he sang me a birthday song... Against the backdrop of Singapore River, it really felt super romantic... Too bad I was dead tired from mugging overnight the day before... Nevertheless, it was still perfect... Life's good again~ ^^

Opening Ceremony~

Haha... What better day to start a blog then my birthday... LoL... Never thought I would start a blog, cause I'm not particularly good at writing. Honestly, I'm not the hardworking type of people who will maintain blogs... Haha... I did try blogging sometime back, but didn't get around to much in the end... Studies, work and stuff... It's on friendster anyway... So that's that...
